Vice President, Exploration
Nathan Humphrey is currently the Vice President of Exploration at Steelhead Petroleum Ltd. Previously, he served as Staff Geologist working New Ventures at Apache Canada where he was involved in defining and developing new plays to enhance the Canadian portfolio. Most recently he led the geoscience technical delineation and horizontal pilot development stage of the Kitimat Upstream asset, leading to the sale of its operatorship and working interest to Woodside Petroleum (Spring, 2015). Mr. Humphrey’s career has spanned both large and small cap public companies operating in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and internationally. This has created a diverse portfolio of experience in conventional waterflood oil assets across the WCSB as well as Brazil and Colombia. His strong exploration and development background coupled with experienced reservoir modeling skills and operational expertise in horizontal drilling enhances conventional oil asset development efficiencies and economic value. Mr. Humphrey has a Bachelor of Science (Geology) from the University of Alberta, holds a professional designation as a member of the Association of Professional Engineers Geologists, P. Geol. and is a member of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists (CSPG).
